By popular demand, we now added music tracks from Mulaka’s boss fights to Soundcloud and YouTube! We’ll be uploading all of them shortly, but this time it’s the turn of the boss fights in the desert of Samalayuca and the lake of Arareko.
You may recognize the track from the boss fight in Arareko, otherwise known as the giant frog, after all the times you tried beating it. Coming straight from our development team, we have a useful tip that will give you an edge: git gud. 🙂
Next week will be at E3 showing Mulaka on the show floor and hanging out with fans of gaming both old and new. Feel free to say hi if you’re gonna be there!
Many of you have praised the visuals of Mulaka and shared some gorgeous screenshots on social media. We love those, and we want more! If you enjoy picture modes on video games, it’s your lucky day! Mulaka now lets you enter picture mode at anytime!
The update is available as of TODAY on all platforms. To enter the new picture mode, all you need to do is pause the game, and the button prompt will show up in the upper left corner. That same input will activate the picture mode at anytime during gameplay. You should post yours on Facebook here or on our Discord server here and we’ll absolutely share the best ones on our sites.
And speaking of Discord, why not join our server? We just opened it last week and it’s already full of cool people and all. We just created roles around games to find people to play with, so fun times are on the forecast.
With E3 just around the corner and all the rumours hyping us, we couldn’t miss all the buzz, so we’ll be there at the showfloor! We’ll share more details soon, but it’d be nice to hang out with you.
A few months ago, we opened a community group on Facebook for our fans, friends, and followers to hang out, discuss stuff and share gaming things. Some of you requested we opened a Discord server as well, and after thinking it through, we arrived to a very well thought and educated answer: Why the hell not?!
Over there, you’ll be able hang out with us, meet like-minded gamers, have discussions, play with us and other people, and even listen to music. There are cool bots, too. If you have any issues getting in, the invite code is S6anvAR.
You’ve probably seen already that we’ve been posting some Mulaka screenshots on our social media sites that were provided to us by members of our community. You can post yours on Facebook or on Discord on the #mulaka channel as well.
We’ve been blessed with an incredible amount of support from the community of gamers and fans following the launch of Mulaka. To celebrate this, we’ve created a brand new trailer to thank everyone for the constant outpour of kind words and the heartwarming reception.
This video puts a spotlight on the positive reception achieved among the press that wouldn’t be possible without the constant support of players everywhere.
We hope you enjoyed this and the journey of the Sukurúame in Mulaka. There’s more coming soon, though, so stay tuned for updates.
If you haven’t yet, make sure to pick up the game for your favorite platform:
This is a quick update on an issue with Mulaka on the Nintendo Switch that some users have reported.
If you’ve been trying to play Mulaka with your Switch Pro Controller while on tabletop mode, you probably wondered why the game wasn’t detecting the input of your shiny gamepad. We’re currently investigating this to issue a patch that solves the problem, but in the meantime, we’d like to share with you a temporary fix.
To play Mulaka on tabletop mode with your Pro Controller, simply sync up the Pro Controller with your Switch and remove the Joy Cons from the sides of the console. You don’t have to unsync them from your Switch, just remove them from the sides, and the game should recognize the Pro Controller as the primary input.
As a reminder, we released a patch earlier this week that fixes some bugs, increases the font size on some of the menus, and adds an option to invert the horizontal axis.
When we launched Mulaka a bit over a month ago, we had a fan art contest with our Facebook community. We received over 70 submissions, all of them phenomenal, but we had to choose 16 winners after some internal voting. Probably our toughest decision ever, to be honest. There were a lot of great pieces of work!
We hope you’re enjoying your time with Mulaka! If you finished it already, please make sure to let us know your thoughts and feedback.
Since launch, our top priority has been looking at all your comments and experiences with the game to evaluate how can we make Mulaka better for all of you and for new players to come. With that in mind, in the next coming days, a new update will be made available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions (already up on Steam), with the Switch following in a couple of weeks. This update fixes a number of bugs across all platforms, adds an option to invert the horizontal axis, and increases the font size of multiple menus in the game.
We just uploaded another track from the game to SoundCloud and YouTube. This time, it’s the theme that plays on the town of Paquimé.
Fun fact: The town of Paquimé is a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
On another note, Hunter’s Legacy is currently on sale on PlayStation 4, with a 60% discount for all users and a 70% discount for PS+ members. If you’re into 2D platformers and Metroidvanias, now’s the time! Xbox One and Steam fans will get a discount next week. 😉
We’ll be at GDC and Game Connection in San Francisco next week. We’ll be attending some talks, meeting with industry professionals, and we’ll be demoing Mulaka with Indie MEGABOOTH from Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd. Let us know if you’ll be there and wanna meet, hang out, or something. For any business inquiries, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mulaka is out now on PlayStation 4, Steam, Humble Store and GOG (you didn’t expect that, right?). All PS+ users who purchase the game on PS4 during their launch week will also get a free dynamic theme!
The game is coming to the Nintendo Switch on March 1st and to the Xbox One on March 2nd. At the time of writing this, Mulaka is sitting at a score of 83 on Metacritic for the Switch! Get hyped!
